What is the relationship between a vector and a multi-variable linear function?

I know that the following linear equation:
$$ax_1 + bx_2 + cx_3 = d$$
can be rewritten as:
$$big[a quad b quad c big] left[ begin{matrix}
x_1 \
x_2 \
x_3 \
end{matrix} right] = d$$
Can it be represented in any other form?
I.e. is there any other relationship between a linear function and a vector?
