Problem in calculating the gradient of a function?

I am trying to understand the gradient calculation of a formula, which is an optimization function and trying to maximize the GDL (Generalized Dice Loss)
where, w_l
is a scaler weight,and the gradient has been calculated with respect to p_i

I do not understand how this gradient is being calculated. Could you please help with understanding this? I need to implement it in python.
In some deep learning framworks this gradient can be calculated automatically like Pytorch, but the framework that I am working needs to be implemented manually.
